Flood Watch

Redondo Beach, WA

Day 1: 2025-11-07

CATEGORY 2

WHAT
Tide levels will approach 20.4 ft early in the morning (around 06:36 PST) and again in the late afternoon (16:42 PST). However, the barometric pressure remains very high (over 1025 hPa, peaking near 1033 hPa at morning high tide), and NOAA’s flood likelihood is only 2.9%. Consequently, no risk of flooding is expected.

WHEN
• From early morning high tide near 06:36 PST to late afternoon high tide near 16:42 PST.

IMPACTS
• No flooding anticipated along the coastline or in low-lying areas.
• Normal beach and waterfront activities should be unaffected.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS...

Compared with a historical Category 5 event (e.g., 12/27/2022) where the tide exceeded 22 ft and barometric pressure fell near 978 hPa, present conditions show substantially higher pressure and lower overall flood potential. NOAA’s “Low” flood likelihood further supports minimal risk.

Day 2: 2025-11-08

CATEGORY 2

WHAT
High tides on this day will again exceed 20 ft (peak near 20.4 ft around 07:30 PST), with barometric pressure around 1010 hPa. Although the pressure is lower than Day 1, it remains well above the 992.8 hPa threshold often linked to severe coastal storms in this region. NOAA assigns only a 3.2% flood likelihood.

WHEN
• Early morning high tide near 07:30 PST and late afternoon/evening high tides (notably around 17:30 PST).

IMPACTS
• No significant flooding is anticipated.
• Roads and low-lying waterfront areas are unlikely to see any saltwater inundation.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS...

Historical comparisons (for instance, 01/06/2025 in Category 3) featured similarly high tides but also had higher NOAA flooding likelihood and different pressure patterns. In contrast, current data indicate a comparatively low chance of flooding for Day 2.

Day 3: 2025-11-09

CATEGORY 2

WHAT
Tide heights will still be near or just above 20 ft (peaking around 08:30 PST) with a barometric pressure of about 1010.7 hPa. NOAA’s flood likelihood remains low (1.4%), reflecting minimal concern for coastal flooding.

WHEN
• The morning high tide near 08:30 PST and the evening high tide near 18:24 PST.

IMPACTS
• No flood-related disruptions are expected.
• Normal coastal activities can continue without major concern.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS...

Even though the tides remain relatively high, they do not align with the low-pressure and wind conditions historically associated with significant flood events in Redondo Beach. Current NOAA projections confirm minor risk levels.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.

CATEGORY KEY

• Categories 1-2: No risk of flooding.
• Category 3: Close to a flood event and worth monitoring.
• Category 4: Flooding is likely however, it is uncertain if this will cause major property damage.
• Category 5: Likely to flood and cause property damage.
• Categories 6-7: Extremely high risk of flooding and property damage.
