Flood Watch

Redondo Beach, WA

Day 1: 2026-02-14

CATEGORY 2

WHAT
No risk of flooding is expected. Although the maximum tide early in the morning may reach around 19.1 ft, the barometric pressure near its peak (approximately 1013.4 hPa) remains well above historically low levels linked to flooding events.

WHEN
High tides of note occur around 04:36 AM and 02:06 PM PST.

IMPACTS
No flooding impacts are anticipated. Low-lying roads, beaches, and properties should not experience any intrusion of seawater.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS...

NOAA indicates a 0% flood likelihood, and the measured barometric pressure is not near the critical low threshold (around 992.8 hPa). Historically, higher tides above 20 ft combined with significantly lower barometric pressure were associated with flooding. Current conditions are well above those pressure lows and below severe tide heights, so flooding risk is minimal.

Day 2: 2026-02-15

CATEGORY 2

WHAT
No risk of flooding. Tides could again rise above 19 ft in the early morning hours, but the atmospheric pressure is notably high (above 1025 hPa), reducing any flood potential.

WHEN
Watch for the morning high tide around 05:00 AM PST and an afternoon high tide around 02:54 PM PST.

IMPACTS
No expected inundation in low-lying or coastal areas. Normal marine conditions should prevail.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS...

Comparisons with past Category 4 or 5 events show that those had significantly lower pressures and higher tide peaks. The very high barometric pressure on Day 2 further lowers any flood risk. NOAA’s official likelihood also remains at 0%.

Day 3: 2026-02-16

CATEGORY 2

WHAT
No risk of flooding. The highest tide may briefly exceed 19 ft around sunrise, but again the barometric pressure (near 1019 hPa) is well above flood-concerning thresholds.

WHEN
Primary high tides occur near 05:18 AM and 03:36 PM PST.

IMPACTS
Minimal to no coastal impacts. Low-lying roads or shorelines should not see water encroachment.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS...

NOAA predicts a 0% flood chance. Historically, more severe flooding required tides over 21 ft coupled with lower barometric pressures below ~1000 hPa. The available data for Day 3 does not meet these conditions.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.

CATEGORY KEY

• Categories 1-2: No risk of flooding.
• Category 3: Close to a flood event and worth monitoring.
• Category 4: Flooding is likely however, it is uncertain if this will cause major property damage.
• Category 5: Likely to flood and cause property damage.
• Categories 6-7: Extremely high risk of flooding and property damage.
