Category 3 · ELEVATED FLOOD RISK

Flood Watch

Redondo Beach, WA

Day 1: 2026-06-14

Category 3

WHAT
A moderate high tide, combined with a king tide bump, will bring conditions close to minor flooding thresholds. While winds remain light and pressure is near normal, residents should be aware of a slightly elevated risk.

WHEN
Peak risk in the early morning around 3:24 AM and again near 6:30 PM.

IMPACTS
• Minor inundation possible at the immediate shoreline.

REASONING
The higher-than-usual astronomical tide was the main contributor, with a modest additional push from the king tide. Pressure is near normal, and wind provided almost no extra effect. This is similar to the 2024-11-15 Cat 3 king tide event.

Day 2: 2026-06-15

Category 3

WHAT
Another king tide will keep water levels close to flood conditions. Pressure is somewhat lower than normal, but onshore winds are minimal.

WHEN
Peak risk early morning around 4:12 AM and again in the evening near 7:18 PM.

IMPACTS
• Minor inundation possible at the immediate shoreline.

REASONING
The high astronomical tide coupled with the king tide bump is the primary driver. Pressure is a bit below normal but not severe, and wind remains light. This is also similar to the 2024-11-15 Cat 3 king tide event.

Day 3: 2026-06-16

Category 3

WHAT
Water levels remain elevated due to a fairly high tide, still close to minor flooding risk. Pressure is a bit lower than normal, and wind adds only modest onshore component.

WHEN
Peak risk in the early morning around 5:06 AM and again near 8:06 PM.

IMPACTS
• Minor inundation possible at the immediate shoreline.

REASONING
The high tide is the main factor, with slightly below-normal pressure giving a small additional push. Onshore wind was not a significant contributor. This scenario resembles the 2023-01-06 Cat 3 event.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.
