Category 3 · ELEVATED FLOOD RISK

Flood Watch

Redondo Beach, WA

Day 1: 2026-06-15

Category 3

WHAT
We are close to flood conditions (Category 3) due to a relatively high tide and an additional boost from the king tide. No major wind effect is expected, and pressure remains near normal.

WHEN
Peak risk during the early morning around 4:12 AM and again in the evening near 7:18 PM.

IMPACTS
• Minor inundation possible at the immediate shoreline.

REASONING
The primary driver is the elevated tidal level combined with a modest king tide bump. Local pressure is slightly above the critical threshold, and onshore wind is minimal. This is similar to the 2024-11-15 Cat 3 king tide event.

Day 2: 2026-06-16

Category 3

WHAT
Near-flood conditions remain a concern, driven mostly by another high tide today. Pressure is close to normal and wind impacts are minimal, so any flooding should be limited.

WHEN
Peak risk near 5:06 AM and again around 8:06 PM.

IMPACTS
• Minor inundation possible at the immediate shoreline.

REASONING
The elevated tide is the main contributor to this Category 3 rating. Pressure is not unusually low, and onshore wind is negligible, so flooding risk remains moderate without further compounding factors.

Day 3: 2026-06-17

Category 3

WHAT
Conditions remain at Category 3, suggesting we stay alert. The tide continues to elevate water levels, though wind and pressure are not expected to significantly escalate the situation.

WHEN
Peak risk around 6:06 AM and 8:54 PM.

IMPACTS
• Minor inundation possible at the immediate shoreline.

REASONING
High tide is again the primary driver, with near-normal pressure and very little wind effect. There are no king tide influences today, keeping the risk in a moderate range.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.
