We are close to flood conditions today (Category 3). The primary driver is a fairly high astronomical tide combined with an additional boost from king tide status, with a small influence from slightly lower-than-normal pressure.

Peak risk is expected in the evening, around 7:18 PM during the high tide.

The high tide is the main contributor to today’s risk, given an elevated water level enhanced by the king tide. Pressure is slightly below normal but not extremely low, and onshore wind influence is negligible. The ensemble agrees on Category 3 for today with no higher tail scenario. A similar circumstance appeared on 2024-11-15, which was also a Category 3 king tide event.

WHAT
We remain in a close-to-flood scenario (Category 3), mainly due to the continued high tide. Pressure remains a bit on the lower side, but wind is minimal.

WHEN
Potential peak risk in the early morning around 5:06 AM and again in the evening near 8:06 PM, coinciding with the high tide cycles.

IMPACTS
• Minor inundation possible at the immediate shoreline.

REASONING
Slightly elevated tidal levels are the primary factor again, supported by mildly below-normal pressure. Onshore winds are modest and do not add significantly to the flood risk. All ensemble members agree on Category 3 for today.

Day 3: 2026-06-17

CATEGORY 3

WHAT
A similar pattern continues with Category 3 conditions mainly from the elevated tide. Pressure is near normal, and wind remains light, so neither adds much risk.

WHEN
Flooding concerns may peak around 8:54 PM when the tide is highest.

IMPACTS
• Minor inundation possible at the immediate shoreline.

REASONING
Today’s tide is again the strongest driver of the close-to-flood conditions, with normal-to-slightly-lower pressure having only a modest effect. Light onshore wind is not a major contributor. All forecasts consistently indicate Category 3 for the day.
