Category 3 · ELEVATED FLOOD RISK

Flood Watch

Redondo Beach, WA

Day 1: 2026-06-16

CATEGORY 3

WHAT
We are close to a flood event due primarily to elevated tides, with slight additional support from atmospheric pressure. Onshore wind is minimal, so conditions remain borderline for flooding.

WHEN
Peak high tides around 5:06 AM and 8:06 PM.

IMPACTS
• Minor inundation possible at immediate shoreline.

REASONING
The elevated tide was the main contributor, with a small boost from near-normal pressure. Onshore wind made negligible impact, keeping the forecast at Category 3.

Day 2: 2026-06-17

CATEGORY 3

WHAT
Conditions remain close to flood thresholds again, driven mostly by a strong high tide. Pressure remains near normal, with only minimal wind factor.

WHEN
Peak high tides around 6:06 AM and 8:54 PM.

IMPACTS
• Minor inundation possible at immediate shoreline.

REASONING
Higher tide continues to be the leading factor, modestly supported by slightly below-normal pressure. Onshore wind has little effect on elevating water levels today.

Day 3: 2026-06-18

CATEGORY 3

WHAT
We remain near flood conditions on Thursday, largely from continued elevated tidal levels. Pressure is near normal, and onshore wind is again minimal.

WHEN
Peak high tides around 7:06 AM and 9:36 PM.

IMPACTS
• Minor inundation possible at immediate shoreline.

REASONING
The elevated tide is once more the main driver, aided slightly by routine pressure values. Onshore wind provided little extra push, so the ensemble stays at Category 3 without significant uncertainty.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.
