Category 3 · ELEVATED FLOOD RISK

Flood Watch

Redondo Beach, WA

Day 1: 2026-07-15

Category 3

WHAT
Category 3 conditions, close to flood status. Higher-than-usual tide is the main factor, with a small influence from near-normal pressure.

WHEN
Peak water levels will occur around early morning (near 5:06 AM) and again in the evening (around 7:42 PM).

IMPACTS
• Minor inundation possible at immediate shoreline.

REASONING
The moderate astronomical tide was the dominant contributor, with slight additional support from pressure. Onshore wind did not contribute significantly to this forecast.

Day 2: 2026-07-16

Category 3

WHAT
Category 3 conditions remain in place. An elevated tide, along with slightly lower pressure, brings a continued risk of minor flooding.

WHEN
Highest water is expected around 6:06 AM and again in the evening near 8:18 PM.

IMPACTS
• Minor inundation possible at immediate shoreline.

REASONING
The moderate tidal levels and slightly below normal pressure drove today’s classification. Winds had minimal effect. This is similar to the 2023-01-06 Cat 3 event.

Day 3: 2026-07-17

Category 3

WHAT
Category 3 conditions persist. The moderate tide remains the key factor, with near-normal pressure providing a slight contributing effect.

WHEN
Expect peak tides in the morning around 7:06 AM and again in the evening around 8:54 PM.

IMPACTS
• Minor inundation possible at immediate shoreline.

REASONING
The tide continues to be the primary driver, with a small contribution from near-normal pressure. Onshore wind is minimal and does not significantly affect the forecast.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.
